Independent Film: The Man of the Year
This Friday, September 1, join us for our first Independent Film showing at the library, for free. We will be showing "The Man of the Year" by Jose Henrique Fonseca. The showing begins at 2:30 PM in our main meeting room at the Chestertown Branch, and lasts 106 minutes, ending in time to head down to the First Friday art gallery openings nearby. There will be popcorn and lemonade. This showing is limited to patrons over 18 or with parental permission.

Meet Maiquel (as Michael) in his incredible destiny: the unemployed car salesman turned assassin-for-hire who becomes the owner of a highly successful security firm. Based on the award-winning novel by Patricia Melo "O Matador" (Brazil 1995; translated and published in the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands among other countries), "The Man of the Year" marks the feature film debut of director Jose Henrique Fonseca.
