Tales Tombstones Tell
This year, Halloween isn't just for kids. Ed Okonowicz, author and storyteller, will be at the Kent County Public Library at noon on Halloween day to enlighten and entertain. His stories will be of interest to genealogists, tombstone and cemetery hobbyists, and anyone who wants to enjoy some eerie tales and interesting graveyard pictures on Halloween. Ed Okonowicz, a Delaware native, worked as an editor and writer at the University of Delaware, where he continues to teach courses in folklore, storytelling, communication and writing. He is the author of 24 books, ranging from biographies and oral history to short story collections about Mid-Atlantic ghost stories, legends and folklore. He also has written two murder mystery novels set in the fictional state of DelMarVa. His programs on teaching Delaware and Maryland history through folklore and legends are popular in schools and libraries. He has received numerous awards in writing, storytelling, and speaking.
