Summer Reading @ Your Library
The Summer Reading Program is in full swing at the Kent County Public Library. Stop by any branch to get a game board for kids of all ages, and check out the fun programs we have planned throughout the summer. For more information or to hear our theme song for the summer, visit us online!
"Make a Splash -- Read!" is the theme this summer. Children will explore the world of water, water fun and pirates through stories, songs, games and other activities about oceans, rivers, lakes, and pools and the creatures that live there. The 2010 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story hours, a reading club, and more. Families are invited to join the Read-to-Me portion of the program. Registration for the Summer Reading Program begins on June 9th. For more information pick up a calendar of events at one of our branches, check our website, www.kentcountylibrary.org or call the library at 410-778-3636. All programs are free of charge.
Hey kids! Buzz on over to the Kent County Public Library and play Catch the Reading Bug this summer (June 13-August 8). Just pick up a "Catch the Reading Bug" game board and bag of goodies at any library branch any time this summer. Do the reading at your own pace, complete the activities on the game board and turn in your coupons for prizes. Even if you can't read you are welcome to play!
Beginning May 13th there will be a new program for 2 and 3 year olds at the Kent County Public Library. Toddlers will have socialization and play time at 10:30 leading into story time at 11:00 am. Toddler Story Time will be the 2nd and 3rd Tuesday of the month, after Baby Story Time. We look forward to seeing you and your Toddlers at the Chestertown Library Branch.
