If you are interested in volunteering at the library, please download a volunteer application. If you have questions about volunteering, please call and ask to speak to the volunteer coordinator. Volunteers must be age 13 or older.
The Friends of the Kent County Public Library support the library with funding for materials, equipment, programs, and other needs. You can support the Friends by becoming a member, making a monetary donation, donating items for their semi-annual used book sales, or volunteering.
The Friends have their regular meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7pm in the Chestertown Library Inc. "Yellow" Building at 207 Calvert Street.

The purpose of the Foundation for the Kent County Public Library is to support the mission of the Library. Towards that end, the Foundation's primary mission is:
To assist in ensuring the long term financial viability of the Library.
Secondary missions include helping provide funds for special projects and needs of the Library not contained in the Library's annual operating budgets.

The Board of Trustees consists of seven members appointed by the Kent County Commissioners from nominees submitted by the Board of Trustees.

The Friends of Kent County Public Library accept gently used books and selected other items for their semi-annual sale. They do not accept magazines, encyclopedias, textbooks, or any items in poor conditions. Please review the FOL guidelines for donations before bringing items to the library.
The Friends do not accept donations year-round. Please check before bringing in your donations. All items must be donated in person during regular library hours and donations of a large number of materials must be made at the Chestertown branch on Tuesday afternoons
We will issue a receipt for tax purposes, but we are not able to assign value to your donation.
