Earn service-learning hours by volunteering at the library!

Service-Learning at the Library workshops are an opportunity for teens ages 14-17 to earn service-learning hours by helping the library with a variety of projects.

This month's project: Getting Supplies Ready for Programs for Kids

This month's tasks will involve cutting paper for crafts, sorting items, and other activities.

This workshop will run for 3 hours. In order to receive service-learning hours, you must commit to participating in the full workshop.

Participation Requirements

To participate in this event, you must apply to be a volunteer at KCPL. The volunteer application must be signed by a parent or guardian. To learn more about KCPL's volunteer program and to download the application, visit the Volunteer page on our website.

Volunteer Dress Code

The library is a professional work environment. When you are volunteering, you are representing the organization and are expected to dress in a manner that reflects being in a professional environment. Comfortable, casual clothing is recommended to ensure you can move with ease. Clothing that includes images or messages that are political, religious, violent, or sexual in nature are not permitted while volunteering. Shoes are required at all times. For safety reasons, flip-flops and open-toe sandals are not permitted.
