The Maryland Library for the Blind and Print Disabled (LBPD) invites you to join Dr. Brenda Rapp, Ph.D., professor of Cognitive Science at Johns Hopkins University, to learn about the types of reading difficulties that individuals may experience after a stroke, often referred to as "acquired dyslexia."

You will learn about the different mental operations that are involved in the very complex task of reading; common types of post-stroke deficits that researchers have identified; how some deficits are similar to traditional print difficulties related to low vision or vision loss and others are quite different; and how testing can be used to identify the reading difficulties an individual is experiencing.
